enCourage: Benefit for Both?
When you feel overwhelmed and exhausted, it is challenging to be a caregiver to your loved one. All caregivers of older adults deserve free time to address their own well-being. If you’re one of the 53 million individuals in the US providing unpaid care for an older relative or dear friend, the Y is here to help.
This companion-based, community adult day respite program is for adults living with early-moderate dementia and their caregivers. Participants enjoy stimulating activities, physical fitness, social conversations, engaging games with YMCA staff and volunteers, and lunch is provided.
