enCourage: Benefit for Both?
When you feel overwhelmed and exhausted, it is challenging to be a caregiver to your loved one. All caregivers of older adults deserve free time to address their own well-being. If you’re one of the 53 million individuals in the US providing unpaid care for an older relative or dear friend, the Y is here to help.
This companion-based, social care respite program is for adults living with mild cognitive impairment and/or dementia and their caregivers. Participants meet monthly and enjoy stimulating activities, physical fitness, social conversations, and engaging games. Lunch is provided.
