(Buffalo, NY) – YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s “Y on the Fly” program is hosting a food giveaway to benefit families in need this weekend in the City of Buffalo.
News media is invited to the Northwest Community Center, located at 155 Lawn Avenue, this Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm to record video of the event. An interview opportunity will be available with Terrell Chambers, Community Outreach Director at YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
Families who attend this weekend’s food giveaway will receive XXX.
Y on the Fly is a mobile YMCA that visits neighborhoods and offers free programs aimed to help youth of all ages stay active and engaged in mind, body, and spirit. Y on the Fly provides healthy meals to children and families, educational enrichment, physical activities, and games. Y on the Fly is sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY.
Last year, YMCA Buffalo Niagara served more than 72,000 healthy meals and snacks to local children through its various programs, including Y on the Fly. The Y also allocated more than $826,000 to 2,808 Western New York families to provide equitable access for child care, youth development, and healthy living programs.
