YMCA Turkey Trot Early Bird Rate Ends September 30

(Buffalo, NY) – Early bird pricing for the 126th Annual YMCA Buffalo Niagara Turkey Trot ends Thursday, September 30. Starting Friday, October 1 the registration fee increases to $42 per entry until the race sells out.

In-person race capacity is set at 14,000. A virtual option is also available to offer WNY Ex-Pats and those unable to attend the in-person event the chance to a part of this time-honored Thanksgiving tradition. Online registration is available at YMCATurkeyTrot.org. The entry fee includes all processing fees and a commemorative t-shirt.

The YMCA Turkey Trot in-person race begins at 9:00 am at the Delaware Family YMCA (2564 Delaware Ave.) and ends at Franklin and Court Streets near the Buffalo Convention Center. At the conclusion of the event, participants are invited to the post-race celebration and awards presentation at the Convention Center. A family friendly, non-alcoholic post-race area is also available in Statler City located across the street from the Convention Center. All aspects of the event will be held in accordance with current state and CDC COVID-19 guidelines.

Those who register for the virtual race have the option to run, jog, or walk an 8k (4.97 miles) route of their choosing anytime between Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, November 28.

Known to be the oldest consecutively run footrace in the world, the YMCA Turkey Trot is an 8k race that attracts 14,000 runners and walkers annually. Proceeds raised from the event support YMCA programs that empower youth, improve community health, and ensure access for all.
