Jenalee, an essential worker, says she was in crisis mode when she had to find child care for her daughter. That’s when she contacted the Y for help. She says it means the world to have the Y’s emergency child care program available to her. “I cried in relief and thankfulness that someone understood and had compassion during these trying times. Without this program, my daughter would have been thrown around to 3-4 different people throughout the week, probably without a set schedule.”
Jenalee says she’s happy that her daughter is surrounded by caring staff in a fun and safe environment. “They do so many projects and learning experiments. But most of all, from her stories, I can tell the staff cares about my daughter, which is something that is so difficult to find in any child care setting. It makes my day so much easier knowing she is with people who care about her, who she can fully trust and look up to. I also cannot thank you enough for the safety precautions being taken at the program.”
“I would just like to thank the YMCA for running this program. It has truly been a life saver for us. During such a crazy time in the world, it is wonderful to have a program available like this that is run by caring and understanding individuals.”
